Summer is finally here and it’s been quite an exciting year!  Thank you to all who have renewed their MOS membership.  For those who simply lost track…don’t worry, just mail in your payment today or bring it to the next meeting, personal checks are preferable.  Jarret Delos Santos is doing a fantastic job with the membership roster!  Please continue to let us know of any changes, mahalo!

Thank you to Dan and Roxana Gerstenberger and Carol Best for Chairing our Mother’s Day Show, and a big mahalo to all those who volunteered, your contributions to the club are greatly appreciated. 

I would also like to take a moment to thank all of the nurseries who donated so many plants for our Fund Night.  Your generous contributions of excessive amounts of plants are genuinely appreciated by everyone.  Orchids of Olinda, Fragrant Orchids of Maui, Pauwela Orchids and Palms, Exotic Orchids of Maui, Tokunaga Orchids, I.N. Komoda Orchids and Sunshine Orchids of Maui - thank you very much!

Please re-pot and take care of all your orchids, the County Fair is nearing us once again and we need you, the members, to participate by bringing in blooming plants to display.  Re-potting them now should help them to bloom in time for the Fair.  Part of the reason why we provide so many plants at our meetings for you to take home is in hopes that you will bloom them and bring them in for Shows, the Fair or even just Show and Tell.  It is a mark of achievement to bloom a nice plant and its beauty should be shared, but most importantly, by displaying your plants, you are supporting our club.
Our next meeting is one not to miss, Carlos Fighetti, the President of the American Orchid Society, will be joining us as our guest speaker.  Please join us on Tuesday, June 17th at Wailuku Community Center.
