The Beginner's Session started at 6:30 PM, led by
Carol Choda, Exotic Orchids of Maui, who instructed the members on how to understand the information provided on the orchid plant tag.
The speaker for the evening was Roy Andrade, President of Ewa Orchid Society, and a backyard grower like the most of us, except he has an extensive collection of Dendrobium orchids. Mr. Andrade provided a humorous account of his orchid "fever" and decribed the various types of Dendrobiums along with their care requirements.
